OSHCare Leases Film Star Heritage Building
After school and vacation care service OSHCare Pty Ltd has leased a heritage building in a waterfront location at Balmain in inner western Sydney which featured in an Australian cult movie.
OSHCare has secured the historic, two-storey sandstone building at 101 Mort Street, Balmain, in a deal negotiated by Ray White Commercial Inner West Principal Tim Morrison on behalf of a private investor owner.
Tim Morrison said the 300 sqm building was used to film parts of the 1974 Australian biker movie ‘Stone’.
“This property is a heritage listed corner building with wraparound verandah and was originally the Forth & Clyde Hotel, an integral part of the ship building and industrial heritage of this Balmain waterfront location,” he said.
“The building is now fully utilised as professional offices. It features a boardroom, kitchen and amenities.
“The building is close to Mort Bay Park, Thames Street Wharf as well as Balmain’s well-known pubs, restaurants and retail shopping precinct with easy access to bus and ferry.”
OSHCare has taken out a 3 + 5 year lease at net rental of $125,000 per annum.
